What is EU residency registration?

Eligible citizens of EU member states, the European Economic Area and Switzerland who intend to reside in Spain for more than three months are generally required to register their residence.

Successful registration results in a Certificate of Registration as a Citizen of the European Union , which confirms registration in Spain's Central Register of Foreigners.

The certificate contains important information including your name, nationality, address and NIE number.

If you are unsure whether EU residency registration applies to you, or which evidence you may need, a consultation gives us an opportunity to understand your plans first.

Online consultation

Online consultations are available Monday, Wednesday and Thursday between 2pm and 4pm. Discuss your circumstances with Into Spain from wherever you are currently based.

In-person consultation

In-person consultations are available at the Into Spain office on Tuesdays and Fridays between 10am and 2pm at La Manga Club, Murcia.
